Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of two years in the last five years’ consistent experience in an adult general mental health setting. Solid knowledge of psychotropic medications and their side effects. Solid interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills and critical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Current Nonviolent crisis intervention is required. Current N95 Fit Test. Connect Care training.
Preferred Qualifications:1 year of recent experience in an inpatient or community forensic setting and experience in a correctional setting would be considered. Training in Collaborative Problem Solving. Basic knowledge of the Not Criminally Responsible due to Mental Disorder (NCR-MD) Legislation and the Criminal Code Review Board (CCRB).
