Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Working knowledge of psychotropic medication, psychiatric disorders and therapeutic interventions. Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, critical thinking skills and strong assessment skills are required. Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and changing environment. Minimum one year of nursing experience in an acute adult inpatient psychiatric setting within the last three years. Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI) certification required or must be obtained after employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of collaborative problem solving.
