Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:The incumbent will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Active participation in patient, family, and staff education. Effective patient assessment skills, timely documentation, attention to detail and accuracy. Effective time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload in a fast paced and high volume changing environment. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. Ability to be self-directed and exercise independent decision making, sound nursing judgment, and critical thinking skills. Actively participation in all research projects and quality improvement initiatives. Proven positive interpersonal relationships, leadership, and conflict resolution skills in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Ability to integrate patient and family centered care principles into own Nursing practice. Effective communication with clients of various ages, socioeconomic status, and ethnic backgrounds Current IV certification is required. Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment: standing on one’s feet for prolong periods of time, frequent walking, lifting and bending. Ability to work for extended periods of time wearing PPE such as N95 required.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of adult Critical Care / Medical / Surgical experience preferred. Experience in Pulmonary Out Patient Clinics is preferred. Certification in vaccination administration is preferred. Experience in procedural sedation recovery is preferred. CRE, CAE, or CTE certification is preferred. Experience working with Connect Care, Netcare, SCM/SCM Ambulatory, Clinibase, Millennium Scheduler programs preferred.
