Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous Pre-Admission Clinic experience. 5 years recent experience on a surgical or day surgery unit required. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment skills. Demonstrated strong critical thinking abilities. Ability to manage in a multi-faceted clinic through efficient time-management and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required (both written and verbal). Ability to work well as part of multi-service team. Effective interpersonal and communication skills through computer, verbal, and written means, in a professional and mature manner required. Proficiency in computer skills required. Expertise using the Windows environment and communication using AHS email required. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and independence of nursing practice in a multidisciplinary team environment. Ability to sit and/or stand while working for extended periods of time. Proficient typing skills. Current and updated resume.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Connect Care, Meditech and Netcare.
