Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent home care experience required. Knowledge of and skills in applying Home Care Nursing Practice Standards. Negotiating skills with clients, caregivers and families. Family assessment skills. Ability to perform all assigned tasks and direct clinical care including but not limited to: constant adjustment of position (sit/stand) throughout the shift, physical exertion, including bending/walking/sitting or standing for long periods of time, keyboarding/mousing and documentations for prolonged periods of time. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent clinical experience functioning at full scope of practice (Physical Assessment, Wound care/training, Medications, IV therapy). Recent clinical experience in geriatric or psychiatric nursing an asset. Understanding of Palliative Care an asset. Meditech/Care Manager experience.
