Qualified to practice law in Alberta and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta. At least five years' legal practice (excluding articling year) with an academic or commercial focus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong negotiation and legal drafting skills. Motivated to learn, independent, self-starter. Proficient at prioritizing and dealing with multiple assignments, all under significant time and other pressures. Proven ability to work with senior management. Ability to balance business considerations against legal risks to formulate creative legal solutions that advance client needs. Strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to work well independently and with others to achieve common goals. Superior organizational and influential skills, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Due to the professional nature of this position, actual hours worked exceed those expected in a “regular” work week. Travel within Alberta may be required on an occasional basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with clinical trial agreements for both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
