Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Certificate in trades from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
Additional Required Qualifications:High School education or equivalent along with a Journeyman Certification in a related discipline, and a minimum of Fifth Class Certificate in Power Engineering. Minimum of 2 - 5 years related experience in building operations in a leadership role and building maintenance experience (prior relevant experience may be credited towards minimum). Must possess relevant trade certificate in a field that is specific to the sites needs i.e., electrician, plumber, HVAC, millwright, etc. Must have proven leadership skills / abilities. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must have ability to work on ladder with arms above shoulder height for long periods of time when required. No physical limitations with regards to sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, etc. Must be able to complete repairs and installations with due consideration to patients, staff and visitors. Must have proven experience operating large, motorized equipment such as lifts, etc. Must possess basic computer skills, in addition to good, clear English communication skills both verbally and written. Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:Must be willing to upgrade education in a changing environment. Must be physically able to carry out duties (i.e., climb ladders, work in awkward positions, lift/move heavy material/equipment, work in hot/cold/dirty environments). Must be able to use required equipment/tools related to servicing of equipment. Must be able to maintain composure and make decisions in emergency situations. Must be able to prioritize workload and ensure duties are completed in a quick manner.
