Your Opportunity:

The IT Customer Support I position plays a crucial role in efficient service delivery, focusing on evaluating end-user hardware, accessories, and software requests through our Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) tool, ServiceNow. This position also involves additional responsibilities that support the portfolio, such as operational process improvement, process development, documentation, strategic planning, and projects. Coordination with both internal and external stakeholders is essential, as the role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams (technical, systems, business, vendors, etc.) to understand customer needs, evaluate requirements, and devise solutions for non-standard requests. This dynamic position is tasked with making swift calculated decisions and upholding standards that support the provincial objectives of the Technology Services portfolio. The location of this position is flexible within the Province of Alberta, and the successful candidate can discuss location preferences with the hiring manager upon appointment.

Description:

As an IT Customer Support I, you will provide the first level of technical support for clinical and non-clinical staff and departments. Your typical duties include receiving and handling initial helpdesk requests for IT support; responding to common requests for support as well as participating in the set up and maintenance of computer software, hardware and systems.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of certificate in Computer Support or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in a fast-paced environment managing multiple concurrent demands. Must have related IT customer service experience within the last 5 years and be proficient using MS Office Suite and Outlook. Experience with ServiceNow is required. Must have strong cognitive, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a dedicated commitment to customer service. Must be able to demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Experience in creating standardized documentation is essential. Must have ability to set and meet personal deadlines and adapt to changes in priority. Must have ability to work in a team environment and experience in coordinating teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge or experience with application management lifecycle processes is an asset. MS Visio proficiency is an asset. Experience with other ITSM tools is an asset. Related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred. Experience in a healthcare environment is an asset. Experience working with technology is an asset. Ideal candidate is self-motivated, and able to operate with limited supervision.
