Minimum a 2-year completed post-secondary diploma in law enforcement, criminal justice or related field, or relevant experience as a Police Officer or Peace Officer. Must maintain an appointment as an Alberta Peace Officer Level 2 by the Public Security Peace Officer Program (alberta.ca), the Alberta Peace Officer Act and Regulation. Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Training for Alberta Peace Officers, including issuing violation tickets, Police Officer Training, or Alberta Sheriff’s Training. or Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General’s Community Peace Officers Induction Training with additional Undercover Investigations Techniques course and Undercover Operator training and any other training identified as required by the Alberta Justice and Solicitor General.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years experience in regulatory inspections and/or investigations required. Demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making including appropriate use of enforcement in regulatory inspections and investigations. Ability to interpret legislation and thorough knowledge of the rules of evidence, court proceedings, surveillance techniques, the cultivation and management of confidential sources, and undercover investigational techniques. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Strong ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and CRM Dynamics. Preparing court briefs and professionally presenting evidence is required. Familiarity with product seizures in alignment with search warrant processes. Experience with testifying in court. Ability to remain calm and self-controlled under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years experience in regulatory inspections and investigations preferred Experience in open-source investigations, surveillance, and undercover operations is preferred.
