Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:At minimum five years of recent experience (within the last two years) in palliative care: acute, community, and/or hospice. At minimum one year of experience as a frontline Case Manager in a community setting. At minimum one year of recent CNE/Instructor experience (within the last two years). Experience with development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of education materials. Proven exemplary communication (verbal, non-verbal, and written), interpersonal, organizational, and peaceful conflict management and problem-solving skills are essential. Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities, along with the ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment are vital. Travel throughout the AHS Edmonton Zone. Physically capable of performing nursing tasks which may include, but not limited to, physical assessments, consulting with physicians and other team members. Openness and willingness to be coached by the team and leadership, when required.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care trained and experience. Baccalaureate degree in nursing is preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in palliative care will be considered. Post graduate studies or certification in adult education and/or palliative care would be an asset.
