Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience with development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of education materials and programming is required. Proven exemplary communication, interpersonal and organization skills are essential. Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities, along with the ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment are vital. The CNE will be based out of one network office with travel among sites required. At the time of interview, you may be required to demonstrate your computer knowledge and proficiency by completing a hands-on assessment. You must demonstrate sufficient typing speed to meet workload demand and navigate through various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook and Internet. Physically capable of performing nursing tasks which could include transfer of clients. The successful candidate will work independently in clients’ homes, which could include congregate settings, single family dwellings, condos and/or walk-up apartments. Therefore, the successful candidate must be able to work in different settings and environments (home environments and weather conditions), as well as be able to lift and carry medical bags, which weigh approximately 25-30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing is preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Post graduate studies or certification in adult education, gerontology, chronic disease management and/or palliative care would be an asset. Minimum 3 years nursing experience and/or clinical educator experience in a community setting preferred. Current working knowledge of Meditech, RAI, and Pixalere an asset.
