Completion of one of the following programs: master's degree in Psychology; master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Membership in professional association/college as per The Health Professions Act. Social Worker must be authorized to do psychosocial interventions. Cultural competency in First Nations populations. Knowledge of First nation’s history, trauma, traditions and healing practices. Knowledge of Aboriginal traditional wellness practices that support addiction and mental health prevention, recovery and health promotion. Mental Health assessment and crisis response, addiction counseling and brief therapy. 5 years experience in mental health/addictions.
Preferred Qualifications:Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.
