Description:
The Human Resources Assistant provides accurate and appropriate coordination, and administration of a variety of human resource services to the Director, Manager and HRBP team supporting Assisted Living Alberta. Reporting to the Director, HR Business Partnerships, the Human Resources Assistant works with growing independence and in consultation with Human Resource professionals to administer standardized HR processes in line with policies and standards as well as applicable legislation and collective agreements. This position supports and models the customer service focus by directing enquiries and correspondence from internal and external stakeholders to the appropriate team member in a timely manner. The Human Resources Assistant’s duties also include time entry for bi-weekly payroll, arranging and scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, administration associated with employee files and other HR records, data entry and compiling information according to requests. This position also provides back-up support to other Admins and various other administrative duties.

A post-secondary certificate or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or related area is required. Previous experience in an Administrative support role is required. Excellent knowledge of computer software include Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, and Outlook) and Human Resource Management Information Systems (e-People / PeopleSoft) are essential. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience with administrative policies, procedures and standards pertaining to staffing, recruitment classification, employee and labour relations is preferred. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Approachable and willing to assist, combined with a strong work ethic. Professionalism and the ability to respond to changing priorities in a busy, detail orientated work environment are essential. Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRMS systems. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Human Resources experience ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred; (healthcare and/or union environment experience is an asset). Experience with reporting. Knowledge of travel, audio visual, room setup. Experience using SharePoint in a professional setting. Experience using iExpense.
