Your Opportunity:

In this provincial, remote work position, your opportunity to become an interdisciplinary team member of the innovative Alberta Virtual Chronic Pain Program and impact the lives of over 900,000 Albertans currently living with chronic pain. Reporting to the Program Manager of the Alberta Virtual Pain Program, this position will have a key role in the creation and delivery of chronic pain education to health care providers and community partners using a population health promotion approach. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote evidence informed chronic pain management strategies through website development, facilitating webinars/meetings, and other health promotion tools. You will evaluate the effectiveness of the health promotion program. This is a temporary position. This position will be part of Primary Care Alberta effective November 18, 2024. Description:

As a Health Promotion Facilitator II, you will lead and coordinate health promotion, disease and injury prevention initiatives and programs using a population health promotion approach. You will identify behavioural, social, political, economic, environmental and organizational factors that promote or compromise health and recommend evidence-informed strategies to address identified priorities. You will conduct situational analyses, literature reviews, environmental scans and focus groups to make recommendations as part of an integrated program planning and evaluation process. You will manage projects using standardized tools and techniques that are conducive or aligned with health promotion, disease and injury prevention practices. You will collaborate with key internal and external key stakeholders in project or program planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement. You will facilitate community and staff engagement and build community and staff capacity around population health promotion priorities. You will evaluate the effectiveness of existing health promotion and disease prevention strategies and make recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Health Promotion, Public or Population Health, Health Education or a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in health promotion, disease or injury prevention initiatives and/or programs. Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of Zoom, Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn and utilize multiple electronic platforms concurrently. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively liaise with various professionals. Ability to work confidently, independently and within collaborative partnerships. Demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development. Experience in fostering and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with key partners within and outside of Primary Care Alberta. Experience working in an organization of substantial size and complexity. Ability to search out and evaluate evidence as required. Requires exceptional verbal, written and listening skills to comprehend, create and communicate concepts and options. Skilled in developing and facilitating presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge to varying audiences (e.g. physicians, community groups, allied health providers).

Preferred Qualifications:

PROSCI certified or equivalent change management training. Project management experience. Experience with program development, implementation and evaluation is an asset. An understanding of the provincial health system and patient resources across Alberta. Experience working on a virtual and/or geographically dispersed team.
