Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide, along with proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP). Communication and assessment skills. The Ability to apply health and safety principles in delivering care to clients in the community, to work effectively and cooperatively with others and to set priorities by organizing and scheduling work-related activities is essential. The successful candidate will work independently in clients’ homes, which could include congregate settings, single family dwellings, condos and/or walk-up apartments. Therefore, the successful candidate must be able to work in different settings and environments (home environments and weather conditions), as well as be able to lift and carry medical bags, which weigh approximately 25-30 lbs. Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in the health care field and work with older or chronically ill individuals. A Medication Assistance Certificate or prior experience in Medication Assistance.
