Willow Square Continuing Care Centre in Fort McMurray includes 36 long-term and palliative care spaces and 72 supportive living spaces. Its high standard of thoughtful design features lots of natural light, private rooms with zero-threshold showers, landscaped pathways, and gardens to make it feel like home. It’s also the first Alberta Infrastructure to use geothermal heating and set up to add solar panels and add 36 spaces in the future. The Health Care Aide functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing healthcare services for clients and family members in their home environment. Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; assist with organized activities or programs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.

Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide, along with proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
Additional Required Qualifications:Effective February 02, 2026, all persons practicing as a Health Care Aide must hold registration with the College of LPN’s and HCA’s of Alberta (CLHA). 3-5 years of HCA experience. Current BLS-HCP Health Care Provider with Heart and Stroke. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous Continuing Care Unit experience. Previous Medication Administration Experience (MAPs). Willingness to participate in team collaboration through team meetings, client review and interdisciplinary discussions. Commitment to continued learning.
