Your Opportunity:
Home Care Health Care Aides provide service to clients in the lodges & their homes in Grande Prairie & surrounding area. This position is currently assigned to community but could be subject to change as required. You must be a certified Health Care Aide and be registered with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Experience in seniors’ health is an asset. Candidate must be willing to change assignment as needed to service facility and community clients. You must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving in all-weather/road conditions. You must have a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes. You must be willing to work alone and/or with limited supervision. You must be willing to work days/ evenings/nights/weekends/stats and both short and long shifts. We are looking for a candidate who has a positive approach both with clients and peers. Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; assist with organized activities or programs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.

Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide, along with proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
Additional Required Qualifications:HCA Certificate, at least 1 years’ experience dealing with all entire age spectrum including seniors Current CPR, reliable vehicle for work purposes and acceptable drivers abstract
Preferred Qualifications:Supportive Pathways/P.I.E.C.E.S course Palliative Care course/experience NVCI course It’s Your Move course Medication Assistance Program (MAP) Foot care course/experience
