Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Non-violence crisis intervention (NVCI) course. Demonstrated proficiency with computers (i.e., Connect Care, Microsoft Office including emails). Must consistently demonstrate AHS’ core values. Minimum one year experience within the last five working in some capacity with children. Experience working within an interdisciplinary team. Previous experience in a health care environment. Ability to work under time constraints, within fast paced changing environments. Ability to communicate fluently both verbal and written in English Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Previous experience in working with mental health and/or eating disorder patients.
