Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be a graduate from an educational program using the Provincial Curriculum for Health Care Aides or have met the criteria outlined in the Substantially Equivalent Competency Guidelines, or within 155 hours of being employed have commenced a training program based on the Provincial Curriculum for Health Care Aides (HCAs). HCAs must complete the training program within 1 (one) year of being employed. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Effective communication in verbal and written English is required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients/clients, families, visitors and team members. Medication Assistance Certificate or prior experience in Medication Assistance is preferred. Previous experience in the health care field and work with older or chronically ill individuals is preferred. Well-developed time management skills. May be required to work a variety of shifts and shift patterns in Didsbury.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous Community/Home care experience Medication Assistance experience Able to work independently in a community setting. Good handle on I-phone technology and computer/email skills.
