J.D. or LL. B and member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta. 15+ years of legal experience, preferably in an in-house healthcare legal department or law firm supporting the healthcare sector or similarly complex service delivery environment.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including comfort with decision-making and exercising sound legal and business judgment. Demonstrated ability for organizational planning and to develop organizational strategy. Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage change to achieve positive results. Ability to influence, negotiate, and mediate resolutions to complex situations. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including interpersonal and public relations skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts and conclusions into a language applicable to the targeted audience. Proven relationship-building skills with the ability to foster partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Demonstrated ability to model innovation and creativity. A proven record of engaging in ethical conduct.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the areas of health law, labour relations and employment matters, corporate/commercial matters, contractual language, privacy and freedom of information policy, legal trends, risk, or general regulatory compliance preferred.
