Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Physically capable to lift food, supplies and equipment up to 46lbs and must be able to push/pull meal carts up to 250lbs. This position requires you to walk and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Food service experience is an asset. Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English well. Capable and willing to be moved to a different skill as requested by the supervisor with no notice. Must be reliable, cooperative, and neat in appearance and work habits. Ability to work independently. Must display good judgement and possess leadership qualities. Knowledge of safe food handling and routine sanitation procedures. Motor coordination and dexterity. Must maintain confidentiality and follow department guidelines and standards. Must be physically fit. Ability to understand simple instructions and simple calculations or drawings. Ability to pass literacy test as per department policy. Must have an excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment record and references. Basic knowledge of and experience with computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

5-years Hospital Food service experience. 1-year Customer service experience. 1-year Rockyview Hospital Patient Food Service experience. Experience with inventory management; receiving deliveries, managing expiry dates, and minimizing waste while utilizing “First in- First Out” procedures. Experience with Industrial Food Service Equipment. Food Safe Certificate or equivalent. WHMIS training.
