This is an opportunity to work in the busy diverse city of Airdrie at the Addiction and Mental Health Clinic. This job is clinical in nature. Therapists are responsible for providing assessment/diagnosis, treatment services and follow-up. This position has an emphasis on working with adolescent and emerging adults but will have opportunities to work across this age spectrum. Therapists in the clinic offer Individual, family and group services tailored to the client need. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. The Family Counselor position in this generalist clinic offers the opportunity to work with a diverse population, with a variety of presenting concerns across the age span. The team takes pride in a focus on client centered care, clinical learning and collaboration. Working alongside a strong multidisciplinary team the family counselor position is clinical in nature and offers assessment/diagnosis, treatment services and follow-up to mental health clients and their families. Working within the well connected community of Airdrie, there is also clinically focused liaison and consultation with community resources.

Description:

As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families. You will also provide clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community. You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

3+ years working in mental health

Preferred Qualifications:

experience in rural communities experience with individual, family and group work
