Supporting the Executive and leadership of Acute Care Alberta, the Executive Associate is responsible for providing senior administrative management services for the organization and participates in planning and implementation of initiatives and projects and achieving the goals and objectives of the organization. This position acts on behalf of leadership in fulfilling operational accountabilities and assisting leadership in managing a wide scope of responsibilities in accordance with priorities for ACA, and provides services in office management, issues management, strategic planning support, portfolio support, committee support, project management, stakeholder liaison and executive admin. support. This position assists in overseeing corporate activities and builds collaboration within the portfolio and organizationally and provides strategic advice to leaders on issues related to admin. management and organizational matters. Working with members of the executive team, this position will achieve the goals and objectives of the portfolio and assist in managing a wide range of sensitive and complex issues. This position’s location is negotiable and may be eligible for a remote/hybrid work arrangement. Acute Care Alberta is a new provincial health agency in Alberta that provides active, short-term care services for patients who have a severe injury, illness, urgent medical condition, or are recovering from surgery. Delivering health care and overseeing health operations at hospitals and urgent care centres, ACA ensures that every Albertan receives the care they need as soon as they need it.
Description:
Executive Support and Strategic Planning: Provides advice, counsel, options, recommendations and perspectives on office, portfolio or Acute Care Alberta matters, projects or issues. Responsible for the administrative coordination and management of the portfolio policy, programs and processes. Provides leadership for other executive administrative personnel within the portfolio. Assists with recruitment, hiring, and personnel management. Is responsible to set and create planning timelines and guidelines based on portfolio priorities. Issues Management: Is responsible for the effective administration and coordination and management of information, correspondence, facts and data. Prepares recommendations in the form of briefing notes, proposals and other required documentation as required. Project Management and Committee Support: Manages complex projects with system-wide impact including the development of comprehensive project plans, communication with key stakeholders and monitoring outcomes and results. Is responsible for the administration, coordination and management of portfolio and Acute Care Alberta committees. Relationship Management/Liaison: Develops strategic alliances with key internal and external stakeholders and engages a variety of partners in collaborative planning. Creates and builds commitment to the Acute Care Alberta vision by enabling effective communication strategies. Financial Management: Supports oversight on portfolio budgets, and resources.

Bachelor’s degree in health care management, business administration or related health care field. At least 5 years’ experience in health care or other public sector environment. Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered. Please enter information in this field.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to gain extensive knowledge of Acute Care Alberta’s strategic direction, operating requirements, as well as policies and procedures. Ability to lead and direct work on behalf of the leader and executive team. Proven ability for drafting documents, preparing speaking notes and writing. Proven ability to work within a team as a contributing member. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with other team members from other areas of expertise, and with the most senior management within the organization. Results orientation and client/ customer service focus. Effective change management skills. A proven record of engaging in ethical conduct
Preferred Qualifications:
A graduate degree is preferred. Additional training or experience in project management and change management is an asset
