Your Opportunity:

Make a Meaningful Impact Across Alberta's Health System. Health Shared Services Data and Digital Health are seeking a highly strategic and influential Executive Associate to join the Office of the Senior Provincial Director, Health Information Management (HIM). This is a unique opportunity for an experienced advisor and leader who excels in complex environments and is passionate about shaping provincial healthcare priorities through strategic analysis, financial stewardship, executive decision support, and organizational transformation. As a trusted advisor to the Senior Provincial Director, you will play a key role in supporting the ongoing modernization of Health Information Management across Alberta. Working closely with provincial leaders and stakeholders, you will help advance strategic initiatives that strengthen digital capabilities, enhance information governance, optimize service delivery models, and position HIM to meet the evolving needs of a modern healthcare system. This is not an administrative support role. As the principal strategic advisor to the Senior Provincial Director, you will operate with a high degree of independence, providing enterprise-level insight and recommendations that influence provincial program direction, operational performance, and organizational effectiveness. You will work within one of Alberta's largest provincially integrated programs, supporting a workforce of more than 2,400 employees and advising on a portfolio budget of approximately $149 million.

Description:

What You Will Do Among many other exciting things, you will: Provide strategic advice and support to the Senior Provincial Director and HIM leadership team on priorities, risks, emerging issues, and organizational initiatives. Prepare briefing notes, presentations, reports, executive correspondence, strategic communications, and decision-support materials. Analyze complex issues and develop recommendations to support executive decision-making and organizational objectives. Lead financial analysis, forecasting, business planning, and performance reporting for a $149M provincial portfolio. Translate operational and financial data into actionable insights and identify opportunities to improve performance and optimize resources. Support alignment across provincial programs, strategic priorities, governance structures, and enterprise initiatives. Build strong relationships with clinical, operational, corporate, financial, and digital stakeholders to advance organizational goals. Support the modernization of Health Information Management through strategic planning, service transformation, process improvement, and digital innovation. Monitor healthcare, HIM, and digital health trends to identify opportunities that improve service delivery and support future growth. Support change management activities related to new technologies, processes, and ways of working. Lead and support strategic projects and special initiatives on behalf of the Senior Provincial Director. Monitor outcomes, identify risks, and contribute to continuous improvement, accountability, and organizational excellence.
