Undergraduate degree; preferably in Emergency Management and/or a Health Profession. A combination of relevant education and experience in healthcare and/or Emergency Management may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum three years' experience within a healthcare and/or Emergency Management environment. A wide range of knowledge on current trends and practices in Emergency Management, particularly within a healthcare environment, government, or industry. Strong understanding of the different pillars of emergency management including mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Experience working in an ICS structure. Minimum ICS 200 certification. Willingness to keep current in a fast-growing and ever-changing industry and the ability to work efficiently under extremely stressful conditions. Experience in the preparation and delivery of educational and training programs. Ability to use provincial templates to build a complete suite of emergency response plans for a site. Critical thinking. Demonstrated ability to lead, directly or indirectly, multi-disciplinary teams. Demonstrated skills in time and priority management, and conflict resolution. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in the preparation of written reports and papers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Emergency Management or a Health Profession. Supervisory/management experience. CBRN/Hazmat training/experience. Exercise design training/experience. Certification with the International Association of Emergency Managers (AEM/CEM). Business Continuity Management certification and experience (ABCP/CBCP). Knowledge of legislation, regulations and codes that impact emergency planning. Experience in Project Management. Experience/certification in Change Management.
