Your Opportunity (1900 Character Limit) Our Electro Neurophysiology Lab supports both community clients and inpatients across the South Zone. We are currently seeking a dedicated Electroneurophysiology Technologist I to join our team. In this role, you will perform EEG procedures on outpatients of all ages (approximately 25% Pediatric patients, and 75% Adults patients) as well as EEG recordings on inpatients, including critically ill patients in the ICU. You’ll be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electroneurophysiology equipment, as well as ensuring accurate patient records. Orientation will be tailored to your learning needs, with ongoing skill development and shift planning to support appointment continuity. Description:

As an Electroneurophysiology (EEG) Technologist, you will perform appropriate tests on all age groups, utilizing a variety of electrode application methods and explain testing procedures to clients/patients and family. You will observe physical changes in the patient during testing, prepare results and/or interprets findings for/with physician. You will prepare, update and maintain patient records. You will ensure proper operation of equipment by performing maintenance, calibration, cleaning and detect any equipment malfunction, make minor repairs or report the need for major repairs to the appropriate person. You will inform the physician of urgent examination results and resolve unusual or complex cases or refers concerns to the appropriate individual(s).

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduation from a formal electrophysiology program, or equivalent training. Successful completion of Canadian Board of Registration of EEG Technologists (CBRET) examinations or equivalent in addition to either successful completion of the Board of Registration of Electromyography of Canada (BRETC) examinations or successful completion of the Certification Examination in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM). Current registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACDMTT). English language fluency to meet ACMDTT policy. Current CPR certification. Physical abilities: prolonged sitting/standing, pushing/pulling of equipment, assisting with patient transfers, sustained awkward postures involved in day-to-day work activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

English language fluency to meet ACMDTT policy. Current CPR certification. Proven leadership, teamwork, and time management skills. Exceptional communication skills. Ability to handle the physical requirements of the job: prolonged sitting/standing, pushing/pulling of equipment, assisting with patient transfers, sustained awkward postures involved in day-to-day work activities. EMG experience preferred
