Electroneurophysiology Technologist I
Your Opportunity:
The Electroneurophysiology (EEG) Technologist I is responsible to perform standard neurophysiology tests on children and adult. The technologist I will primarily carry out EEG studies to support the service delivery within the Clinical Neurophysiology program. This is skilled technical work involving the measurement and recording of brain waves to obtain data to assist in the diagnosis of neurological disorders. The technologist I works collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary health care team, utilizing the principles of family centered care, in meeting the diagnostic needs of this patient population. This position is currently and primarily at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. EEG is an Edmonton Zone Program.
Description:
As an Electroneurophysiology (EEG) Technologist, you will perform appropriate tests on all age groups, utilizing a variety of electrode application methods and explain testing procedures to clients/patients and family. You will observe physical changes in the patient during testing, prepare results and/or interprets findings for/with physician. You will prepare, update and maintain patient records. You will ensure proper operation of equipment by performing maintenance, calibration, cleaning and detect any equipment malfunction, make minor repairs or report the need for major repairs to the appropriate person. You will inform the physician of urgent examination results and resolve unusual or complex cases or refers concerns to the appropriate individual(s).

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Registered or eligible for registration with the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroencephalograph Technologist (CBRET). Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills with patients, families and other staff. Ability to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrates ability to be flexible in dealing with changing/unpredictable situations. Transferring of patients and equipment is required. Demonstrated understanding of a Family Centered Care Service delivery model.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in clinical Neurophysiology in a pediatric and adult settings preferred.
