Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Electrician Certificate with Red Seal from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training. Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's Licence.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Required experience with the Fire Alarm Code, Canadian Electrical Code, Alberta Building Code and Safety Regulations, implementing preventive maintenance schedules, documentation, prepare feasibility, cost estimates, reports, and ordering supplies. Must be thoroughly familiar with tools and equipment used in the trade. Required understanding of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Requires the ability to work independently and effectively in an interdisciplinary setting, detail-oriented, establish priorities, respond to requests promptly and meet deadlines. Required to be in good physical condition with the ability to work in awkward positions, lift or move heavy material or equipment, work in hot or dirty environments, work on a ladder with arms above shoulder height for long periods of time, have no physical limitations with regards to sitting, bending, kneeling, or crouching. Demonstrated self-direction, adaptability, and flexibility are required while working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, responding to changing demands and ability to organize and prioritize workload. Must meet all organizational policy requirements for employment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be reliable and cooperative.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years’ work experience as a Journeyperson Electrician. Minimum 2 years’ experience in an acute care hospital maintenance program. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Has the ability to work under emergency conditions and in difficult situations. Master Electrician Certificate is an asset. Distribution Experience (Medium Voltage and Low Voltage) an asset.
