Your Opportunity:
Health Shared Services is currently looking to add an experienced and dynamic Program Director to the Provincial Community Care Services Information & Technology Team. Reporting to the Executive Director, Provincial Community Care Services Information & Technology (IT), the Program Director will be an experienced individual who will undertake a key leadership role supporting six areas within the Community Care portfolio with pivotal IT projects that impact and improve front line operations, and patient care for Albertans. This role is responsible for aligning the concept and principles of project, program and change management with organizational priorities, processes, and approaches. The Program Director will contribute to the evolution of culture and behaviours across the identified benefit areas through providing a strong understanding of overall operational activities across the organization to ensure best practice solutions are being undertaken. They will be responsible for fostering a highly effective workplace and successful project implementations; including functions related to audit, risk, transition to operations and continuous improvement.
Description:
The Program Director will provide leadership, consultation, and management across all of the Provincial Community Care Services areas. These areas include Population Public & Indigenous Health, Seniors Health, Primary Care and Call Centres, Emergency Health Services, Addictions & Mental Health, and Forensics & Correctional Health. The Program Director will need to build strong business relationships with key stakeholders and leaders while demonstrating the ability to manage large-scale organizational initiatives. This position will be integral to foster partnerships and achieve organizational goals with a strong client service mindset.

Progressive and demonstrated senior leadership experience within a large, complex healthcare environment working with integrated clinical systems on strategy, planning, and implementation. Minimum of a Bachelor degree combined with experience working within the healthcare ecosystem. 7 to 10+ years of project, program and change management experience on large and complex IT projects. Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation, and Prosci® Certification in Change Management required. Significant experience in facilitation, building business relationships with key stakeholders, conflict resolution and risk management. Experience in working within a complex matrixed organization with Senior Leadership level sponsors and stakeholders.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams working on initiatives with competing priorities and tight timelines. Experience in fostering a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, open communication, and maintaining high ethical and professionalism standards, even in challenging settings. Practical experience in strategy, leadership, and strategic thinking on the portfolios priority needs, while taking into account long-term goals and implications. Capability to make major decisions in a sound, consistent manner under tight timelines and high pressure situations to ensure successful outcomes. Ability to work with a high degree of independence, providing integrated and well-coordinated planning and execution within multi-visionary, collaborative teams. Proven leadership skills including mentoring, coaching, teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence within the team. Expertise in project management methodologies, and tools, and governance to ensure project controls and successful outcomes. Experience with financial management including the planning, development and monitoring of assigned budgets.
