Master's degree in a health-related field a minimum 5-10 years progressive experience in a leadership role in population health promotion involving management of a large and diverse range of functions, preferably in a health setting including extensive track record in partnership development. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Registration with an appropriate Alberta Regulated Health profession if applicable. Demonstrate a clear pattern of professional and personal development and possess a record of accomplishment in: Progressive senior leadership experience in a health environment, including 5 years' experience in a management or director role in population health. Demonstrated skills in health promotion/prevention. Strategic thinking, considering long-term goals assessing options and implications; effectively use conceptual/analytical skills to interpret, analyze, consolidate and determine strategy.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Effective communicator, strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Demonstrated skills in report writing for various target audiences. Comfortable with decision-making responsibilities, coaching/teaching and to inspire/build confidence in others. Manage change and create innovative solutions for complex/diverse issues. Manage human, financial and physical resources in a changing environment. Practical experience in strategy, policy development, leadership, change management and project/program management. Demonstrated application of business planning, population needs based approach modeling concepts, and program and project management theories, principles and practices. Advanced knowledge/experience with provincial, zone and gov't engagement and knowledge of appropriate Indigenous engagement and perspectives. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and managing within a unionized sector. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst and builds solid relationships with public agencies, gov't, boards, committees and other partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD not required but is an asset.
