Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Knowledge of population public health nutrition including a sound understanding of nutrition across the lifespan. Strong networking and communication skills to be able to develop and sustain positive community partnerships. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and community partners as a team. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Dietitian. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). Experience with working in First Nations communities. Experience with leading and facilitating groups. Experience in nutrition counselling for health behavior change. Knowledge and experience with virtual health applications for patient care and group facilitation (Zoom, telehealth and teleconference).
