Your Opportunity:

The dietitian provides direct patient care and acts as a consultant to ensure that patients receive appropriate nutrition care. The dietitian completes nutrition assessments and formulates nutrition care plans for patients in a variety of inpatient and outpatient areas. The primary site will be inpatient units at South Health Campus, Peter Lougheed Centre, or Rockyview General Hospital. We are seeking multiple casual Dietitians for the listed locations. The dietitian monitors patient outcomes, communicates with team members, and documents in an appropriate manner.

Description:

As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in enteral nutrition support. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated effectiveness in communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working collaboratively with patients and colleagues in a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Permit that includes restricted activities to prescribe PN and/or working towards this. Minimum 1-year recent experience in an adult acute care setting.
