Required Qualifications:

Master’s education required, with a strong quantitative component in a related field (community health sciences, health economics, biomedical statistics, epidemiology, quality assurance). Minimum eight years’ experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and tools for querying, integrating, analyzing, interpreting, reporting, and disseminating data. Able to write complex SQL queries, understand database architecture, and be able to optimize queries for performance. Ability to clean and preprocess data to remove inconsistencies and errors, including data transformation, data normalization, and data aggregation. Good understanding of statistical analysis and be able to use statical techniques to analyze data. Manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster collaborative partnerships using a team approach to span traditional boundaries within a health care setting. Possess a high level of knowledge of quality improvement principles, theory, study design and statistical modeling. Highly motivated with a positive attitude and high degree of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in Health Care would be an asset. Experience in business process mapping/re-engineering would be an asset. Ability to learn and understand clinical issues. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access) and the ability to become proficient with new software packages. Experience with macros, stored procedures, and statistical software applications. Experience with machine learning techniques such as regression analysis, decision trees, clustering, and neural networks. Demonstrated capability applying ‘big data’ analytic techniques such as data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling, etc. Must abide by the highest standards of confidentiality and have a sound understanding of the principles within Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, as well as the Health Information Act.


Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Tableau or other visualization tools. Proficiency in Alteryx or other data platform tools. Experience in Python, and in python libraries such as Pandas, and Scikit-learn. Experience with Snowflake or other cloud databases. Proficiency in Epic Clarity and/or other Cogito tools. Experience with Quality Improvement/Outcomes Improvement methods and a clear understanding of the connection and interdependency between successful quality improvement and measurement is an asset.
