Your Opportunity:

The Glenrose Rehab Hospital is seeking a dedicated and motivated Volunteer Resources Coordinator to join our team. This position plays an essential role in supporting the vision and mission of the Glenrose by strengthening volunteer engagement and enhancing the impact of volunteer services across the hospital. A key assignment of this role is serving as the Staff Liaison for the Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC). In this capacity, the Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, onboarding and training new PFAC members, partnering with staff to prepare consults, scheduling and supporting PFAC meetings, and providing reports and follow-up for both council members and staff. This work ensures that the voices and perspectives of patients and families are meaningfully integrated into program planning, service delivery, and quality improvement initiatives. The Volunteer Resources Coordinator is also responsible for the full cycle of volunteer management, including recruiting, screening, onboarding, training, placement, supervision, and evaluation. Maintaining a strong and sustainable volunteer pool is essential, and the Coordinator contributes significantly by fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting effective program delivery, and promoting meaningful volunteer engagement. Through strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, the Coordinator helps ensure that volunteer programs operate effectively, consistently, and in alignment with AHS values. Description:

The Volunteer Coordinator role is key in developing volunteer programming and supporting volunteers to succeed in their roles in order to enrich patient experience at the hospital. The Coordinator reports to the Manager of Volunteer Resources, but is expected to interact with all teams and leadership across the hospital. The ability to foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is very important. The position includes administrative tasks, such as managing the volunteer database, submitting expenses and preparing reports. The Coordinator must be comfortable with people management, as they are involved with interviewing, training and evaluating volunteers, including addressing performance concerns.

Required Qualifications:

A post-secondary degree or diploma in Volunteer Resources/Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Management in Human and Social Services or an equivalent of experience, education, and training may be considered. Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar leadership role, within an organization of similar size, complexity and diversity.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Supervisory experience required. Personal volunteer experience is required. Experience with project/program planning, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Better Impact is an asset. Experience working in healthcare is an asset.
