Your Opportunity:

The Physician Affairs Coordinator (PAC) is the key first point of contact for all potential physician recruitment. This position also completes and coordinates all other documentation requirements from the Medical Affairs Office, as well as other departmental administrative duties. The position is responsible for coordinating and completing all aspects of physician commencement and orientation. The PAC is responsible for preparing, gathering, tracking and submitting documents to and from a wide variety of sources including physicians, internal departments, University of Calgary, provincial and federal government offices and professional licensing bodies. The PAC is responsible for new physician orientation and infrastructure, maintaining and improving infrastructure for the current physician workforce, and for all administrative details for physicians leaving the Department.

Description:

This is a very detailed and oriented position requiring significant attention to detail, organization and communicates with various levels of the organization and external bodies. This position may handle numerous concurrent search and selection candidates at different stages of the recruitment process up to and including orientation. This expectation must be balanced with all work and communication related to routine and non-routine administrative duties. This position will work independently with minimal supervision. This position reports to the Physician Affairs Team Lead and works closely with the Deputy Department Head, Department Manager, and other senior leaders in the Department. The PAC position requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, high degree of organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, adherence to a myriad of policies and procedures, adherence to deadlines, flexibility in a changing work environment, and a professional, solution focused attitude.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Suite. Cover letter is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills to anticipate, identify and independently recommend appropriate actions to complex administrative problems. Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information. Demonstrated ability in multi-tasking customer focused roles that require accuracy, attention to detail and professionalism. Requires above-average organizational skills and time management skills. Previous experience in a complex fast paced medical or academic environment is an asset. 5 - 7 years of related experience in progressively responsible roles. Demonstrates the ability to work with frequent interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in facilitating privileges and recruitment is preferred. Previous experience in a complex fast paced medical or academic environment is an asset.
