Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably with a Nursing Background (Registered Nurse, Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Master of Nursing). Must be eligible for professional registration (CARNA/CRPNA). Minimum 5 years' experience: Experience working with federal, provincial and municipal law enforcement agencies policing in Alberta. Experience working with forensic clients. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and community agencies. Experience working with diverse populations. Experience working with vulnerable populations. Knowledge of law enforcement processes and procedures. Knowledge of HIA, FOIP. Knowledge of AHS programs, policies and procedures. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of national, provincial, and zone addiction and mental health services and resources. Proficiency in establishing collaborative relationships and leading a variety of stakeholders to solve problems and innovate services. Excellent critical thinking, stakeholder engagement and communication skills with proven ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a virtual team.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years’ recent mental health experience, community experience is required. Solid knowledge foundation of intervention and treatment modalities relevant to various clinical disorders and psychosocial and environmental problems is required. Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric medications and factors of desired side effects of those medications is required. Confidence to administer injectable medication outside of a clinic setting is required. Comprehensive knowledge of the Alberta Mental Health Act and legislation is required. Experience conducting crisis and suicide assessments. Experience working in larger scope projects, including an urban and rural focus. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant community resources and agencies is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient documentation skills are required, including the development of Connect Care templates. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, high level of interpersonal skills. Basic computer/word processing skills are required. Ability to set priorities and organize time effectively. Ability to work in stressful, demanding and changing conditions. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and multi-system partnership.
