Cloud Platform Advisor
Your Opportunity:
Support the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the cloud data platform in accordance with departmental standards, security requirements, and governance protocols. Assist with platform configuration, testing, documentation, and capacity planning by gathering requirements, performing analysis, and supporting the implementation of approved changes. In collaboration with the Governance team, support provisioning and access management processes, including maintaining Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) models and helping resolve user access and privilege-related issues. Provide day-to-day guidance to business and technical stakeholders on platform best practices, appropriate usage, and available capabilities to ensure effective and compliant use of the platform. This includes assisting with troubleshooting inefficient or long-running queries, addressing performance-related questions, and guiding users toward recommended patterns. Support platform adoption by contributing to an internal community site and assisting with training sessions, workshops, and the sharing of documentation, resources, and platform updates. Contribute to continuous improvement and informed decision-making by reporting on platform performance, usage trends, and cost metrics. Assist with gathering user feedback, identifying recurring issues or improvement opportunities, and supporting optimization initiatives related to workload management, query performance, warehouse sizing, and cost efficiency in collaboration with technical teams, ensuring alignment with platform standards and business objectives.
Description:
The Platform Advisor supports the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of the cloud data platform by assisting with administration, configuration, access management, and performance optimization in alignment with security and governance standards. The role provides guidance to users on best practices, troubleshoots inefficient queries and access issues, supports training and documentation efforts, and contributes to reporting, cost awareness, and optimization initiatives. Working closely with governance and technical teams, the Platform Advisor helps ensure the platform remains secure, efficient, user-friendly, and aligned with organizational needs.

B.S. in Computer Science, B.S. in Information Technology, or a degree in a related computer or technology field. SQL and PL/SQL programming training and/or certification. Database administration training and/or certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of experience in Snowflake administration. Strong understanding of database architecture, ETL/ELT tools, AI/LLM and query optimization techniques. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and work effectively as part of a collaborative team. Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:At least 5 yrs of experience database administration. Proficiency in SQL and Python programming. Strong understanding of database architecture, ETL/ELT tools, AI/LLM and query optimization techniques. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and tasks efficiently. Team player.
