Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services has an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Clinical Research Coordinator to join our Cancer Research and Analytics team. The Alberta Cancer Registry (ACR) is a population based registry that records and maintains data on all cancer cases and deaths occurring in Alberta. This position works as a member of the ACR Team, but the role will be specific to requirements for the Centre for International Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). The Clinical Research Coordinator is primarily responsible for independently collecting and submitting initial and follow-up data on the progress of patients receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) to national/international blood and marrow transplant registries, notably the CIBMTR. They will also be required to actively participate in audits, such as those organized by CIBMTR, Health Canada, FACT and other institutions with which the program collaborates. This position may also be involved in the overall coordination of research studies including clinical trials in collaboration with principal investigators and other members of research teams. They may assist by preparing ethics applications, developing data reports, providing recommendations, etc. The Clinical Research Coordinator must be computer literate, an effective decision maker, self-directed, and able to follow complex coding rules. They will be required to use these skills to navigate efficiently through multiple programs, data sources and resources simultaneously in order to collect and interpret detailed data on patients receiving HSCT. Adaptability to change and taking initiative will be key in bringing forward issues. The successful coordinator will work out of Calgary’s Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Centre, with a possible option to work hybrid once training is completed and minimum standards are met.

Description:

As a Clinical Research Coordinator, you will provide support for research studies through the identification, collection, and reporting of clinical trial data. You will compile research, reports and regulatory documents as required by the protocol, and study/sponsor.
