Your Opportunity:

This position reports to the manager of Education in the Diagnostic Imaging Provincial Quality and Education portfolio. This role works in collaboration with NAIT, SAIT, and other Educational Institutions as required and DI Sites provincially. This position will coordinate all DI modalities. This position is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of provincial wide Diagnostic Imaging Education Programs. This position is also responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining Continuing Education for Diagnostic Imaging staff. In addition, this position is responsible for establishing a service excellence program, invigilating written exams, participating in Image Audits, planning and organizing lectures and demonstrations related to DI Education. This position will also take part in various committees such as DI Operations, Quality Working Group, appropriate Provincial Liaison Groups and others as required. It is also the expectation that this position will advocate for and participate in staff and student led research and audit projects. Represents AHS DI at partner meetings. This is a provincial position, based in Edmonton.

Description:

As a Clinical Instructor (Technologies), your primary responsibility will be the education and development of staff in our department, as well as other disciplines through orientation and continuing education. You will promote excellence and consistency in best evidence patient care in clinical practice. You will provide direct patient care in order to maintain competency and to understand the educational needs of the department. You will have a role in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, lead and/or participate in research projects, and develop training and educational modules/tools for new equipment/therapy and training requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration with the applicable College or Association.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a large progressive Diagnostic Imaging Department. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to cooperate. Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork. Demonstrates interest in professional growth. Perception, initiative, good judgement and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous instructional and supervisory experience preferred. Advanced Certification with CAMRT or Adult Training Courses an asset. Preceptor training. MS Office Suite. Traccess.
