Clinical Informatician
Your Opportunity:
As a Clinical Informatician, Pharmacy Warehouse Management System (WMS), you will serve as a key technology resource on the Pharmacy Connect project team to plan and deliver key requirements related to the implementation of a WMS system and related technologies at the Central Production Facility. Related technologies include handheld devices, the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), Consolidation System (put to light put wall) and the Conveyance System. This will involve working with key partners to define system build requirements (based on workflow, design, or clinical content), and deliver solutions that align WMS functionality and future state Pharmacy processes, including compliance with policy, regulatory and legislative requirements and integration of a WMS with existing clinical information (Epic), and procurement and inventory (Oracle) systems. The Clinical Informatician may also play a role with developing and executing test cases and scenarios. Key skills required include effective communication, strong interpersonal abilities, creative problem-solving, and adaptability. Work hours are generally during weekdays, but occasional shifts outside these hours may be required. The position is remote, so you can work from any location across Alberta. There are 3 positions available.

As a Clinical Informatician, you will lead or participate in the customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems. You will develop and deploy information and systems solutions, drawing on expert clinical experience, and knowledge from their health discipline. Working in the field of Clinical Health Informatics will require you to incorporate the application of information technology to facilitate the creation and use of health related data, informatics aspects of safe, efficient, and effective health services for all Canadians.

Completion of bachelor's degree in a health related field. Active registration with the applicable professional association or college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Diploma from accredited Pharmacy Technician program or bachelor’s degree in health-related discipline, active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with ACP or applicable professional association/college. Current/recent work experience as a pharmacy technician in Alberta Health Services, Covenant Health Services, Cancer Care Alberta, and/or Acute Care Alberta. 5 yrs’ experience in hospital pharmacy operations. Subject matter expertise on relevant teams and working groups, providing input into solutions based on best practices, regulatory and legislative requirements, AHS requirements and policy. Understanding of current and future state workflows and practice and integration into the system configuration. Demonstrated creative and critical thinking, innovation-focused, change orientated individual with strong logical reasoning skills. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated time management skills and adaptability when priorities are required to change. Demonstrated ability to be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Prior work on large-scale projects and implementation of major IT projects; technology knowledge and aptitude. Extensive knowledge of the concepts and functionality of the WMS system.
Preferred Qualifications:Project lead, SMORE CT/ Senior Trainer, or Pharmacy Applications Analyst/App Lead or Connect Care Implementation Lead with demonstrated ability to promote the change process and interface with key partners to resolve issues. Knowledge of dispensing-related configuration that would contribute to the Pharmacy Connect project. Knowledge of ancillary technologies including Automatic Dispensing Cabinets, Packaging Machines and associated interfaces. Experience in zonal or provincial initiatives.
