This health facility provides a wide range of healthcare services which includes the Allied Health Community Audiology program. This program is currently seeking an Audiologist who will work at and out of Westview and is a member of the larger Allied Health Community Audiology team that provides community audiology services to clients of all ages in the Alberta Health Services Edmonton Zone. Allied Health Community Audiology is grounded in a patient and family centered approach to care. In this Audiologist position, you will be fortunate in that you will provide community-based audiology services out of the Health Centre. As a Community Audiologist, you will conduct audiological evaluations on individuals of all ages from infants 6 months old and up, support prevention and/or identification and intervention of individuals with hearing loss, provide appropriate recommendations and follow-up.
Description:
As an Audiologist, you will be working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, where you will be responsible for the screening, identification, assessment and management of patients (clients) presenting with hearing and balance (vestibular) disorders. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will be important to you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform program development and planning. You will interpret findings, provide counselling regarding hearing loss and balance dysfunction, and establish appropriate intervention plans to manage and reduce the functional impact of hearing loss. You will provide patients, their families and other professionals with information and recommendations; making referrals to other agencies and professionals as required.

Master's degree in Audiology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Must possess strong assessment, communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated problem-solving, planning and organizational skills. Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills. Must be able to be self-directed and to work effectively both independently and as a part of a collaborative team. Must possess a sound understanding of the community and the determinants of health. Proficiency with various computer applications including word processing, e-mail, Internet access and data entry. Must demonstrate a strong patient/family centered approach to care.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of clinical audiology experience, including a minimum of one year of experience in assessment and clinical management of infants and preschool children. Previous experience in newborn infant hearing screening and educational audiology. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams. Experience working in Connect Care.
