The successful candidate will have current medical licensure (or eligibility) in Alberta, with certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in healthcare operations, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role in clinical services or healthcare operations. Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or senior care environments. Eligibility to be a member of the AHS Medical Staff.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in leading, supporting, and mentoring medical leaders and clinical teams. Proven expertise developing, implementing, and leading quality improvement programs or initiatives, with the ability to develop and execute organizational strategies, manage complex change, and achieve measurable outcomes. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders. A strong commitment to ethical decision-making and professional integrity. Proven leadership at the provincial or national level in clinical quality or healthcare delivery. Experience and proven skills in leadership, strategic planning, operational planning, and change management with a commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care that prioritizes patient and family needs. Expertise in planning for medical capacity, service delivery, and resource alignment to meet current and future needs, anticipating future trends and positioning the organization for long-term success. Expertise in leading organizational transformation and fostering adaptability across multiple organizational levels. Proven ability to build partnerships and engage diverse stakeholders effectively, while upholding a commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
Canadian Certified Physician Executive (CCPE) credential is highly desirable asset.
