Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration exam annually (pass=90%). Previous experience in a charge role capacity. Computer literacy (proficiency with MS Office Suite). Demonstrated strength in clinical nursing and ability to provide front line nursing care. Demonstrated skills to teach/support and mentor staff. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement initiatives, patient flow and appropriate resource allocation. Excellent communication and documentation skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a busy, demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) an asset. Connect Care training preferred. Preference will be given to the candidate with minimum 3 years acute pediatric experience. Experience with children with tracheostomies, peritoneal dialysis and medical fragile patient populations considered an asset and preferred.
