Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Please be advised this posting may be used to fill multiple identical vacancies arising as a result of the administration of the Trial of Modified Posting Provisions.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1-3 years of experience in home care with preference given for system experience (acute, palliative care, transition services). Proven leadership and communication skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and change management skills. Ability to perform all assigned tasks and direct clinical care including but not limited to constant adjustment of position (sit/stand) throughout the shift; potential for back strain from prolonged sitting; keyboarding/moussing documentations for prolonged periods. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Ability to maintain effective and respectful working relationships. Ability to follow and adhere to AHS policies, procedures, goals and objectives. Progressive leadership experience in a Continuing Care environment with demonstrated ability coaching for performance, mentorship and conflict management, and management of diverse human and material resources in a changing and complex environment. Ability to positively influence an environment of workflow improvement, patient safety, best practice, and continuous quality improvement. Ability to foster partnerships and strong relationships with internal AHS programs and services, and external agencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree in nursing completed or in progress with intent to complete preferred however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector would be considered, Intravenous Management Certification, CVAD/IVAD Certification, and PICC Occlusion Management Certification. AHS Nursing Competencies. Case Management Certification. Commitment to acquiring AHS recommended immunizations within the first ninety (90) days of employment.
