Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years current experience in a high acuity post-anesthetic care unit. Previous experience as an Assistant Head Nurse or Team Leader. Recent experience in a charge nurse / leadership role. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Ability to demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Ability to demonstrate communications skills that promote respect and a positive team environment. Incumbent should have effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Computer skills including experience in Microsoft Outlook, email and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate in Nursing. Knowledge of post-operative complications. Certification in extubation, airway management, arterial lines, direct IV administration, neuromuscular blocking drugs, intrathecal pain management. Experience managing and caring for critical care patients. Leadership Development education. ACLS. Provincial Perianesthesia Education Program (PPEP) Certification.
