Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years in an Emergency Department. Minimum 3 years in a current Charge Nurse Role. Excellent computer skills working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Netcare, Connect Care and Insite. Demonstrated leadership, professionalism, problem solving and communication skills, including the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Demonstrated excellent time management, assessment, organizational and patient care skills. Exceptional ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and to request and accept direction as required. Demonstrated experience and ability to work with an adult client population. Demonstration of critical thinking skills are essential, within scope of practice, including clinical judgement and problem-solving skills. Ability to initiate and effectively implement change is required. Demonstrated teaching abilities, strong decision-making, assessment, and intervention skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred, however relevant Nursing/experience will be considered. Current NRP certification an asset. Communication, leadership, and conflict resolution courses are an asset.
