Description:

The Area Coordinator, reporting to the Manager of the Community Admin Support Services team, provides leadership, direction, and supervision to a diverse group of community-based administrative support staff within the Central Zone. This is based on an assigned geographical area. The ideal candidate lives in one the North-East areas of Central Zone and will be required to travel to the communities that are supported in this geographical area on a regular basis. This position will be responsible for coordinating and organizing an effective support team in response to constant changing requirements and in accordance with HR standards and budgetary guidelines. This position contributes to the department’s operating efficiency by building inter-departmental relationships and participating in the development of innovative and effective operational support strategies. Assistance with the development of integrated, collaborative and coordinated operational administrative processes will be a key responsibility of this role and establishment of standard administrative procedures and implementation of consistent practices throughout the sites of operation. The Area Coordinator handles the front line supervision and human resource management of administrative staff as assigned and assists with the accountabilities of the program’s operating budget and with the allocation of resources.

Required Qualifications:

Two-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent, preferably in the Office/Business Administration field. Three to six years progressively more responsible administrative experience required. The candidate must have advanced computer technical skills; testing will be administered.

Strong networking and relationship building abilities. Excellent conflict resolution skills and problem-solving abilities. Strong advocate for team building and common practices. Commitment to AHS values of compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and safety. Good working knowledge of computer programs (CPSM, RMS, ESP/Infor-WFM, E People, MS Office Suite, MS Teams). Knowledge of AHS Corporate policies (Human Resources, Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Prevention Control, Finance, CPSM, etc.). Knowledge of Central Zone community programs and services. Familiarity with AUPE GSS collective agreement, departmental policies and procedures.


Preferred Qualifications:

Good working knowledge of Connect Care, as related to community health programing. Previous experience in leading teams.
