Description:

The Analyst, System Status Management reports to the Director, System Status Management, and is responsible for supporting the development of operational plans used to guide the strategic deployment of EMS resources throughout the province (system status plans). This includes supporting and leading the configuration and maintenance of important decision support technologies used by EMS Dispatch. The position is also required to perform advanced data analyses/modelling using contemporary methods and tools in operations management and data sciences. Other duties include: Statistical modelling and forecasting in support of system status plans. Synthesizing, interpreting, and applying data using advanced statistical concepts. Reporting various operational metrics to monitor EMS system status performance. Study and recommend innovative approaches to enhance performance in EMS operations. Documenting methods, service standards and policies. Data management, standardization, and workflow design. Query writing and simple database creation. Providing general support across the EMS Dispatch Program to achieve quality results in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary (Bachelor’s) degree in the field of Operations Management, Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science. Applicants will be required to demonstrate 3+ years of pertinent work experience performed in a health, municipal, or public safety environment. Proficiency in the following applications: MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, and ‘R’ and/or Python programming languages.

Preferred Qualifications:

Postgraduate or Master’s degree in a related field. Applicants should be able to demonstrate 5+ years of pertinent work experience performed in a health, municipal, or public safety environment including 3+ years progressive leadership experience in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Advanced Proficiency in: MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, and ‘R’ and/or Python programming languages. A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
