Advisor, Talent Solutions
Your Opportunity:
Talent Acquisition is looking for an Advisor to join our Talent Solutions team. Talent Solutions is responsible for supporting organizational initiatives and strategies, such as international nurse recruitment, in the development and operationalization of recruitment programs to improve processes, maximize efficiency, and ensure consistent hiring practices aligned with organizational needs. As an Advisor, you will be a critical component of the Talent Solutions team that assesses and addresses business requirements and emergent work, focusing on the delivery of international and other targeted recruitment initiatives to support staffing challenges. This includes contribution to the cross-functional international recruitment projects by maintaining best practices for internal and external policies and processes, including external immigration programs/policies for AHS, Recovery Alberta, Alberta Precision Labs, other health agencies and international employees. You will provide direct candidate support with immigration processes, problem/conflict resolution with respect to international employee requirements, including work permit extensions, hiring considerations and eligibility, permanent residency, and adherence to AHS policies and procedures. You’re a detail-oriented human resources professional who is adaptable in transitioning through challenges, organized with excellent communication skills. You will leverage candidate databases, data and metrics to enable data-driven decision-making to drive talent programs forward. You are proactive in generating ideas and engaging others to continually improve quality and processes and can work with a high degree of independence. This position is eligible for remote/hybrid, working with a provincial team.
Description:
As the Advisor, Talent Solutions, you will work in partnership with the Talent Solutions and Talent Acquisition teams to continuously adapt to support the recruitment solutions focused on attracting talent throughout our organization. To do this, you will build and maintain strong client relationships with internal and external clients/stakeholders, always using a client-centric approach to consult efficiently with clients. You will provide advisory services to Talent Acquisition Advisors and managers support the deliver solutions that support the complex operational recruitment challenges, often focused on sourcing hard-to-fill positions or chronic shortages that directly result in bed closures and reduced or compromised health care services. You will utilize technology to monitor and report on urgent and large volume recruitment projects and leverage your systems knowledge and understanding of human resources (HR) workflows to support the Talent Acquisition teams.

University bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration or other relevant degree (a combination of education and experience may be considered). Three or more years of professional experience in human resources, or talent acquisition/recruitment. Two or more years of international recruitment experience including supporting international recruitment teams with immigration processing, tracking and compliance. Experience using Recruitment Management Systems (i.e. Taleo), Human Resource Management Information Systems (i.e. e-People / PeopleSoft).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience creating and implementing recruitment strategies, processes and practices with a high degree of influence and responsibility. Experience working in a high-volume environment, with the ability to maintain timely and effective communication with multiple clients and stakeholders. Experience consulting with and presenting to stakeholders of all job levels including leadership. Working knowledge of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) rules, regulations and processes of both temporary and permanent immigration categories.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a unionized environment or working with unionized staff. Experience using REDCap or other candidate databases and workflows. Experience with Case Management systems (i.e. ServiceNow).
