A minimum of a degree/diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline and CRSP designation. If CRSP not present, the candidate must already be enrolled in an accredited program with a commitment to complete it within 2 years must be provided. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity is preferred (healthcare experience is an asset). In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Facilitation/coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation. Significant experience in problem-solving, concerns resolution, investigation, negotiation, data management, analysis, and reporting. Team leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships/partnerships with internal and external partners. Effective communicator with strong organizational & influencing skills, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services. Adaptable to constant change and difficult situations.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Extensive knowledge of the client group/function supported and best practices applicable to Workplace Health and safety. Experience in coaching leaders. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Experience managing physical and human resources and related financial/statistical information. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Project management and change management experience is an asset. Time management skills. Understanding of our competencies through our AHS Values in Action.
